First Web Portal for Dynamic Business Documents To Be Introduced
by ISIS Papyrus at Xplor 2003
Single Entry Point for Accessing and Creating Any Kind
of Business Document for Customers, Employees, and Agents
ATLANTA, GA, OCT. 27, 2003
The first web portal for dynamic
business documents was introduced to the USA at Xplor 2003
by ISIS Papyrus Software, www.isis-papyrus.com, a global
leader in business document solutions.
ISIS Papyrus WebPortal enables a business to offer a single
point of entry for accessing and creating every kind of business
document needed by customers,
employees, and agents, according to Annemarie Pucher, head of global sales
and marketing for ISIS Papyrus.
With the Papyrus WebPortal, users can immediately access
and create both inbound and outbound corporate and customer
documents such as reports, offers, statements,
faxes, e-mails, Web and SOAP messages using a thin client standard web browser
environment, Ms. Pucher said.
Although the web application is just now being introduced
to the USA, it has been on the market in Europe for a year
and is being used by major banks
and
insurance companies.
“The Papyrus WebPortal is real and available technology,” she said. “It
reduces IT costs and improves the cost-effectiveness of business documents, providing
instant integration opportunities.”
The Papyrus WebPortal and its document processes are freely
definable and not hard-coded – no JAVA programming is required, Ms. Pucher said. A company
can easily create and modify its processes according to specific business needs.
“The Internet and the web portal concept for business documents will create
new expectations and opportunities,” Ms. Pucher said. “Customers,
employees, and agents will come to expect that at any time day or night
they can have Internet access to their documents.
A WebPortal for an insurance company, for example, enables
an agent or a prospective customer to obtain a complete,
customized and personalized
policy
ready for
final signature directly from the web site whenever it is convenient.
A bank customer can use the portal to obtain a variety of documents
as
well
as client
reports custom-tailored to his needs.
Lengthy business documents that normally would have to
be express mailed overnight, now can be customized, personalized
and downloaded
from
a company’s web
site using the Papyrus WebPortal.
The Papyrus WebPortal addresses every aspect of the document
life cycle including graphic design, security and access control,
archiving,
and
everything in
between. The software resides on a company’s PC or Unix
server or mainframe and custom processes are defined within
a few weeks.
Documents are generated on the fly and sent to the user
in PDF format for viewing and printing. All web-generated
documents
can be automatically
archived, viewed,
searched and printed locally or centrally from virtually
any platform and
printer. Pages retain their original look and feel, complete
with text, graphics, photos,
and color. Documents remain available for as long as they
serve a useful purpose or are legally required.
Application integration is simple with Papyrus WebPortal.
Papyrus can read business data in any format, including
XML, ASCII,
EBCDIC, and
others. Papyrus offers several standard data interfaces:
flat files, SQL Queries,
Adapters,
i.e. MQ Series, SOAP, Typemanagers for DB/2 and Oracle.
Data preparation or data tagging is in most cases not required.
