ISIS Papyrus Introduces Software to Automate Inbound
Document Capture and Data Extraction
NEW YORK, APRIL 7, 2003 – A powerful software
suite that automates the time-consuming, error-prone
and expensive process of handling thousands of pieces
of incoming mail, faxes and e-mails is being introduced
to the USA market for the first time by ISIS Papyrus
Software, the leading document automation and management
technology company in Europe and Asia.
Called, Papyrus Inbound®, the software system uses artificial intelligence
--- or self-learning systems --- and off-the-shelf hardware to scan, recognize,
classify, verify and export incoming documents such as bill payments, letters,
applications, invoices, forms, and just about anything else. The software transforms
documents into electronic data ready for instant processing by other business
or office applications. An optional component, Papyrus FreeForm® can
even handle unstructured or poorly structured communications.
Papyrus Capture is unique on the market and is designed
to integrate seamlessly with the Papyrus Document System,
the software company’s flagship suite
of components that cover the entire document life cycle, said Annemarie
Pucher, head of global sales and marketing for ISIS
Papyrus.
Papyrus Document System is the only enterprise document
integration™ software
on the market -- software that is both platform and printer independent
at the time the document is designed and provides essential
integration as well
as management features out of the box. All other document products require
substantial programming, project effort and additional products to enable
integration and workflow.
Papyrus Inbound software modules already have been
used successfully by major companies in Europe, such
as TeleKom Austria, Canon (office
copiers),
Securicor
(Frankfurt-based financial services provider), Deutsche Post, and Society
for Paperless Document Process (flight coupons for airlines), and Wincare
of Switzerland
(health insurance). A major Austrian bank is currently using Papyrus
Inbound to process 250,000 incoming documents per day.
Customer experience shows that the systems typically
pay for themselves in six to twelve months by eliminating
a great deal of manual processing.
Papyrus Capture even assumed international importance
in November 2000 when war-torn Bosnia held its first
general parliamentary election
and used the
system to process more than 2 million paper ballots in 32 different
layouts.
