Ladies and Gentlemen !
It has been a long time since the last ISIS
Times! Let us apologize for not staying in contact,
but we have been very busy. What can we tell you?
We are all well at ISIS and we hope you are too.
If this sounds like a family letter, it is because
we believe more than ever in partnership with
our customers. Once accepted, we have been known
to go head-on with the big vendors to protect
our client's interests. Just like our customers
in Hamburg, Germany we prefer the hanseatic way
of doing business - with mutual trust and respect!
AFP Designer Version 4.0 has been available
for a while. It took a little longer than anticipated,
but we decided we wanted to include a few more
odds and ends. AFP Designer is still our daily
bread and butter, as it has become the standard
for OGL/PPFA design in many countries. In Germany
and Denmark for example ISIS has provided more
than 80% of all installed AFP tools! IBM Japan
has sold the Japanese ISIS AFP Designer into companies
like Fuji and Mazda.
Nevertheless, AFP Designer 4.1 is already
under development! It will finally include integrated
testing and debugging of PAGEDEF conditional processing.
Pressing the 'NEXT PAGE' button will execute any
conditions as defined and met by the data. At
last!
What else is new? ISIS Papyrus is moving
fast in installations and ongoing development.
New features for formatting have been introduced
to Papyrus DocEXEC. We have installed the first
Papyrus Servers to drive the Xerox Metacode printers
seamlessly with AFP applications! The Papyrus
Microfiche Server to drive the Anacomp XFP2000
is becoming a logical choice for service bureaus
around Europe. Quite a few Papyrus Fax Servers
have been installed in industry accounts.
ISIS has been contracted by Lufthansa AirPlus
in Frankfurt, Germany to provide a software solution
for the most flexible card on-serting system ever
built. It features a Papyrus Server which drives
a Xerox4890 Color Printer to feed the on-serting
system at 90 pages a minute with AFP color applications.
After the magnetic strip on a credit card is read,
Papyrus Server produces the pages for the printer
in real-time.
XPLOR'95 in Minneapolis ( In November! Brrrr
! ) is coming up and we will be there. In the
largest booth ever, we will show ISIS Papyrus
as the most flexible system and printer independent
document and printing solution on the market today.
We are definitely looking forward to seeing you
again at XPLOR'95.
