- The Papyrus System has five major components:
- 1) The Papyrus Designer Suite
- It provides font, image, and forms creation and conversion.
- It also handles the data structures for line-mode print files using the IBMPAGEDEF descritpion. The most powerful is the formatted document design with its totally integrated design, preview and test capabilities. All resources are stored to the asset library without or optionally with version control.
- 2) The Papyrus DocEXEC is called by the application program or by job control to perform the document generation from the data-file the definition, while using the print resources from the asset library.
- 3) The document file is then printable through the Papyrus Host or Server print services. Any other quality AFP compatible print service can also be used. Printing supports high-speed S/370 channel or networked TCP/IP printers int he suported formats.
- 4) The Papyrus Client can either be used to view and PC print any AFP document file in the spool, pool or archive. It can also fill pre-defined forms and it can generate dynamic documents using the integrated DocEXEC with user interactive prompts.
- 5) The output management facilities interface with all the components to send, access and receive documents. Complex bundling and distribution capabilities are available through customizable tables, Papyrus DocEXEC definitions and external scripts and programs.
